Uponor Multi-layer Composite
Pipe (Unipipe)
The pipe has an inner layer of Polyetheylene - Raised Temperature (PE-RT), a middle
layer of overlapped welded aluminium and finally a further outer layer of PE-RT.
The aluminium layer is an oxygen diffusion barrier, whilst also allowing the pipe
to be flexible yet formstable. MLCP is available in a range of pipe diameters from
12mm to 32mm coils for domestic use.
Uponor PEX Range (Wirsbo)
Uponor PEX pipe is 5-layer pipe with a chemically cross-linked polyethylene PEX
base pipe for long-term strength and performance at high temperature. The pipe is
coated with four layers, including an integral barrier layer to inhibit oxygen diffusion,
an opaque layer to inhibit UV penetration, and a protective PEX white outer layer
to give a tough and reliable construction.
Designed, to meet the requirements of BS7291 Class S, Uponors PEX pipe is available
in 15mm, 22mm and 28mm dimensions.
Applications
Manifold Plumbing
Uponor Multi-layer
Composite Pipe (Unipipe)
One system has become the popular choice for many types of installations: Uponor’s
multi-layer composite pipe. With 55 million metres, Our MLC pipe is the market leader
in this segment of piping systems. The easy, safe and fast installation as well
as the suitability of the pipe for all types of plumbing installations are the basis
of our system. The wide range of fittings - the result of our own R&D - in various
dimensions, made of plastic or metal, as press or compression version, completes
the installation system.
Uponor Plumbing combines the unique benefits of it’s Multi-layer Composite pipe
with a range of fittings and manifolds. The pipe has an inner layer of Polyetheylene
- Raised Temperature (PE-RT), a middle layer of overlapped welded aluminium and
finally a further outer layer of PE-RT. The aluminium layer is an oxygen diffusion
barrier, whilst also allowing the pipe to be flexible yet formstable.
Uponor PEX
Pipe (Wirsbo)
The basic principle of the Uponor manifold system is to provide joint free pipe
runs from a centrally positioned manifold to each radiator valve or tap or water
outlet. The system can be designed with one single pipe dimension from the manifold
to the draw-off point, which simplifies design and installation work. With joints
only at the manifold and the radiator/taps, the risk of leakage from joints is considerably
reduced and there are no connections within the walls. Since also there are no other
draw-off points on the same pipe, pressure and temperature variations are minimal
when taps are turned on and off. Small pipe diameters and fewer fittings save on
installation time and labour costs.
Our PEX pipe is 5-layer pipe with a chemically cross-linked polyethylene PEX base
pipe for long-term strength and performance at high temperature. The pipe is coated
with four layers, including an integral barrier layer to inhibit oxygen diffusion,
an opaque layer to inhibit UV penetration, and a protective PEX outer layer to give
a tough and reliable construction.
Designed, to meet the requirements of BS7291 Class S, Uponor’s PEX pipe is available
in 15mm, 22mm and 28mm dimensions.
Conventional Plumbing
Uponor Multi-layer Composite Pipe (Unipipe)
Uponors MLC pipe range of plumbing products can be used for drinking water installations
of all sizes. A range of special products is available for all applications in old
and new buildings. An extensive range of connectors enables the system to be connected
to all standard on-wall installation systems and fixtures.
The comprehensive range of products enables complete installation from the riser
to the fixture with only one system. Installation with our MLC pipe is extremely
economical and easy; all components are designed to fit perfectly. The dimensional
stability of the pipe and low heat expansion make only a few fixing points necessary
– a practical advantage for fast installation. A range of clever tools rounds off
the MLC pipe system: from pipe cutters to bevelling tools through to pressing tools.
Uponor PEX Pipe (Wirsbo)
Uponor PEX pipe has its own unique fitting solution and both pipe and fittings are
available in dimensions 15, 22 and 28mm. A PEX ring is fitted over the pipe, both
the pipe and ring are slowly expanded and pushed onto a Uponor PEX fitting. The
pipe and ring then shrink back to their original positions creating a seal between
the pipe and fitting. Uponor PEX pipe is fully compatible with EN 1254 compression
fittings in UK sizes offering complete choice and integration with other systems,
simply insert the pipe support and make your connection. Uponor plumbing systems
are developed and manufactured to meet all relevant national and international standards
and are complemented by a range of specially designed fittings to meet the requirements
of both specifier and installer.
